Visiting the blueberry paradise: Der Beerenberg
If you’re following me on instagram , you probably know that I’ve been blueberry finding at Der Beerenberg (located in Linz). They invited me together with a bunch of various other bloggers and IGers to take a look behind the scenes and to appreciate their delicious organic blueberries. And although it’s been very hot that day time and I thought I could very easily walk up the hill by foot (that was not the best idea I’ve ever had, especially on that sunshiney day), it ended up being a marvelous and beautiful afternoon. We had an amazing view on the city and the blueberries had been the best I’ve ever endured. So needless to say, I wanted to put the blueberries to good use. This Margarita Cheesecake Pie is to-die for. For reals.
Cinco de Mayo is tomorrow and I figured I used to be better past due than under no circumstances with this formula. I understood that after trying my No-Bake Green Lemonade Cheesecake Pie which i had to produce a margarita version and here it really is. Creamy, luscious, lovely and tart and filled with a margarita punch. And nondrinkers, hath no fear – it really is nonalcoholic.
Though if you are a daredevil like myself, spiking it is recommended. I don’t tequila-discriminate.
My mom loves sour stuff. Special Tarts as well as the sour Jelly Bellies are one of her favorite items. I, however, cannot stand sour candy. Gummy worms – those that were once sour inside a previous life but are now a whisper of sour – will be the just sour” I could tolerate. Other things is off-limits.
So you’d believe that my mom want margaritas, what making use of their sour punch and extreme tartness. But no, she hates margaritas with an intense passion. The woman who shoves a whole lime in her Corona, the woman who will consume Lovely Tarts until her tongue swells, the girl who enjoys sour candy having a fiery interest hates margaritas.
Did I point out she’s also allergic to cucumbers but not pickles? She actually is a strange, strange woman indeed.
I, for one, enjoy margaritas in spite of my typical anti-sour attitude. I kind of benefit from the puckery punch that the fresh lime has as well as the kick in the tequila. And this is precisely one of the explanations why I devoured this pie faster than you can say tequila pictures.”
That, and because it was 99 levels F on Friday. NINETY-NINE. That’s so foul, y’all. THEREFORE I was acquiring alllllll the chill I could get, which pie offered plenty of that iciness I craved on that sizzling hot day.
And Do not show me 99 degrees isn’t hot. What kind of world perform you live in if 99 degrees F. isn’t warm!? Whatever it really is, I do not need to reside in it.
ANYWHO. Let’s get to the bottom of the pie.
Er. I already did. Oops.

Pour the combination into the prepared crust and smooth out the top. Immediately freeze for 4-6 hours or overnight (overnight suggested) before trimming into slices. Garnish with the dazzling sugar right before serving. This is best served right from the freezer or slightly thawed.
I love the appearance of the gleaming sugar sodium” on top of each little bit of this luscious, creamy pie. It’s packed with that punch of lime because of the non-alcoholic margarita mix and has plenty of that sweet-tart taste you crave from a frosty, marg-on-the-rocks.

I love that one ingredient banana ice cream formula because it’s so quick and easy to generate when you want a little sweet vegan and paleo deal with without sugar added sugar. You can make it lacking any ice cream maker. All you need is really a meals processor (such as this one ) or a vitamix blender would also work! The only real ingredient is normally bananas (certainly!), so it is naturally vegan, paleo and dairy-free.
Add Flavors to Your Banana Ice Cream
The great thing regarding the banana ice cream recipe is the fact that it makes a straightforward base that you can add plenty of flavors to. I’ve added flavors like chocolates, peanut butter, cinnamon, vanilla bean and crispy pork Belly crackling much more! If you wish to add flavors, I would recommend adding your flavors 1 tablespoon at the same time and testing it until you get the right flavor. For instance, if you want chocolate banana snow cream, add 1 tablespoon of cocoa natural powder and check it out. Then, if you want to add even more cocoa powder, devote another tablespoon and mix then taste until it’s right. Same applies to peanut butter or almond butter ( make your own here ). However, for smaller sized additives like cinnamon or vanilla bean you will want to add 1/4 teaspoon at the same time.
Chocolate Drizzle
To make the chocolate drizzle the thing is in the picture, merely melt 1/2 cup of chocolate chips (I like this brand because it’s clean and you can find simply no scary additives). Then drizzle the melted chocolate over the snow cream and it’ll instantly harden!

After about 30 seconds to a minute it will still be chunky. End mixing and mix within the chunks with a spoon, after that get back to mixing until it is smooth.
At this point you can stop and have banana snow cream.

I’ve probably pointed out my love for Heath Pubs often enough so maybe it’s time I described something fresh. Second and then Heath Bars are Mounds Bars. I just love that combination of creamy coconut topped with chocolates; hold the nut products please! On a recent trip to the neighborhood H Mart I spied a display of coconut milk and I understood as soon as I noticed it what I would do. My snow cream manufacturer was begging for a few interest and I was prepared to comply…this Mounds Bar n’ Cream – Coconut and Dark Chocolate Chunk Ice Cream was the end result and it was fabulous!

I wish I had fashioned a story to talk about about this formula. Some descriptive text about how very much it means if you ask me, or how I’ve treasured this glaciers cream since I used to be a little lady (ahem, that might be about Butter Brickle ice cream!). Only if the journey to complete this dish included something irreverent or fun…but really it’s quite doggone UN-melodramatic. I simply treasured it a lot and believed you would as well! How’s that for plain and simple?
When there is one caveat for this lovely dessert it is to urge you to make it early and have plenty of time for this to freeze overnight. Never to insure that it is frozen more than enough, nope, I simply discovered that the much longer period in the freezer allows for the coconut to mellow and soften and type of absorb a few of that creamy goodness. It is seriously To. Die. For. SERIOUSLY!!!
This recipe makes a whole lot; we stuffed four quart containers. Still, I really believe I shed a rip when it was gone; it is just so dang good. Promise.
I may have a VERY old ice cream machine that’s only valuable as a prop today but I’ll show you…I should be hired by Cuisinart to sell their glaciers cream maker (not an affiliate hyperlink BTW; Amazon doesn’t enable that in Colorado!). These newfangled devices with the put you freeze? No snow? No salt? SO easy. No excuses. I had been actually able to perform two batches at one time before freezing the dish again to accomplish two even more (this means I’m buying a 2nd dish stat).
One funny tidbit I imagine…when I produced a trio of ice creams for this backyard barbecue , that one got folks minimal interested. The cherry and bourbon chocolate varieties experienced them a lot more excited. The thing is where that is heading right? Needless to say this is the one they LOVED…as in scarfing down the last few bites under cover of darkness and departing me with an empty container. You will see payback however in the meantime…make this; you won’t be sorry!
Serves One particular gallon
13 minTotal Time
1.5 cups shredded coconut
Combine sugar, sodium and roasted pork belly nutrition facts coconut dairy in huge saucepan and warmth until steaming.
Whisk eggs in huge bowl and increase half of blend to eggs, whisking when you add.
Pour egg mixture back into skillet and cook on low until slightly thickened about 3-4 minutes.
Refrigerate until thoroughly chilled.
Process using ice cream manufacturer; add delicious chocolate and coconut at the end and blend until just combined. Remove from the ice cream maker and put into freezer safe box and freeze until firm.
This makes a lot of ice cream! I put considered reducing the recipe in half but didn’t because I didn’t have anything else planned for half a can of coconut dairy and because I was going to be serving this to an organization.
Halve it if you must but end up being forewarned…you might wish you had managed to get all!
I almost wore out my first glaciers cream maker years back (the freeze the container variety) and something day decided to spring for the one you flip the change and it freezes. I really like it and never have to remember the pot.
I actually haven’t seen a Heath pub for ages – actually the import locations don’t stock them.
I really like Mounds bars! Method much better than Almond Joy 😉
I really like my Cuisinart ice cream machine too. The dish is always within the freezer ready to go. I may need to try this shortly, I’m a huge lover of custard based ice cream and the flavor combo noises divine.
Thanks for visiting! You’ll find a little bit of everything here; some baking, some barbecue and undoubtedly some booze! Join me as I update old formulas and experiment with something brand-new and above all promise that what is served is clean and delicious!

We vividly remember the advertisements featuring the Kool-Aid Man. That pitcher-shaped, laid back, baritone dude could even bust through brick walls! I drank gallons from the stuff. I even remember producing Kool-Aid while i was babysitting. I could quickly locate the family’s stash of coloured pouches and tub of white glucose. It was a recipe for middle-class living at its finest.

Fast forward to adult me. I would never serve this to my children and definitely not someone else’s kids. An weight problems epidemic can certainly provide one some perspective. I’ve discovered to appreciate authentic fruit filled with fiber and vitamin supplements.
Here’s a gorgeous shot I required of Middle E on a rare outing with just us.Crispy Pork Belly Recipe (Siu Yuk) | China Sichuan Food He pointed at this screen of Kool-Aid and asked if there is fruit in the pouches. I answered, crispy pork belly thai Nope.”
He wisely answered with another question, Why does it have a picture of fruit when it generally does not have fruit within it?” We stated, Isn’t that ridiculous!” What I wanted to do was hug him and golf swing him round the aisle for making that apparent, but critical connection that packaging could be misleading. He wished to model his greatest Yuck Face alongside the display. Perfect.
What Middle E will understand in a few years is that Kool-Aid is merely trying to sell something. They aren’t interested in public health. Fruits is normally messy and it costs a lot to produce and ship. There are always a million explanations why companies like Kraft (who owns Kool-Aid) will attempt to find methods to offer us food-like items that are much less temperamental than actual fruit.
Can you find the fruit within the component list for the Soarin’ Strawberry Lemonade, that has bright red strawberries in the packaging?
I didn’t see it either. Unless Crimson 40 is currently the new phrase for strawberry.
In the meantime, I will allow my kids ask lots of questions about food marketing, packaging, and ingredient lists. We may also enjoy sipping whole fruits smoothies which could potentially make us solid plenty of to break through brick wall space.
Amen, Alli and kudos to your son certainly. You must have been so very pleased! I noticed the gallons of tampico (sp?) punch in the backdrop of the picture; another dietary winner!

Level of Difficulty: 5/5

1 level tsp salt
7 gr bake yeast
3 cups like-warm water (just as much as needed)
For the filling up:
1. In a dish combine the two forms of flour, salt, glucose, candida, cinnamon, mastic and mahaleb cherry.
2. Steadily add the luke tepid to warm water and knead, such as the picture to the right, into a normal dough before dough becomes shiny.
3. Cover with tea towels and leave in a warm place, (e.g. a room with a heater roast pork belly on weber), and leave to rise for about 30 minutes.
4. As the dough is usually rising, prepare the filling up. Inside a bowl, combine the tahini, sugar and cinnamon. Mix the ingredients with a metallic spoon making certain the cinnamon is totally mixed through the entire paste.
5. Check on the dough after thirty minutes. A newbie be aware: generally speaking, the much longer you keep dough to go up, the softer the breads is going to be once it really is cooked. Therefore, when you have the time I would suggest departing the dough to go up for about one hour before the next thing. Even if you usually do not, the tahinopittes will still be good, just not as soft as they could be.
6. After thirty minutes to 1 1 hour (based on your obtainable time), separate the dough into approximately 20 pieces and form into balls. Cover with a towel to help keep them soft.
7. On a floured surface, move out a dough ball right into a rectangular sheet about 20 x 8cm.
8. In the center of the sheet, place 2 heaped tbsp filling up and pass on the filling level over the surface leaving a 1cm space around the advantage.
9. Fold the longer side of the sheet to the centre to cover 2/3 of the sheet and bring the remaining 1/3 over.
10. Flip the dough sheet in half. Together with your hands, shape the dough sheet into a move about 60cm to 80cm very long. Take the two ends and swirl so that a rope-shape is usually formed.
11. Roll the two ends from the rope in reverse directions to form two snail’s shells. Bring one snail’s shell over the other and press together with your hands. Right now don’t be upset if some of the tahini squeezes out at this time! The tahinopita will still flavor good, nonetheless it may mean you will need a little much less tahini next time. I, for one, was so thrilled to make tahinopittes which i learned this the hard, err similar to gooey, way!
12. Prepare all of the tahinopittes the same manner. Cover the tahinopittes with plastic material wrap so that they don’t dry. At this time, you must allow tahinopittes rise once again. Keep them for another 30min to 1 1 hr, depending on your obtainable time. Keep in mind, the much longer you keep them, the softer they’ll be!
13. Pre-heat the range to 175C.
14. Place tahinopittes on the greased pan and bake until fantastic brown for approximately 30 minutes.
15. As the tahinopittes are cooking, prepare the glaze. Add the water, glucose, cloves and cinnamon inside a pot and put on the stove over medium high temperature. Stir the mix until it thickens. Take off the range and let fascinating.
