If you have ever been to Kerala you wouldnt have missed the famous Nei Meen thokku. Here is a special dish Nei Meen Thokku and how to make it.
Nei Meen Thokku
Ingredients
Nei meen karuvaadu pieces Small onion : 8 (cut finely ) Tomato : 2 (cut into pieces) Chilli powder : 1 tsp Coriander powder : ½ tsp Pepper powder : ½ tsp Cumin powder : ½ tsp Turmeric powder : a pinch Salt : as needed Oil : as needed Mustard : a little Black gram dal : a little Curry leaves : a little
Method
Clean the fish and cut into small pieces. Heat a tbsp of oil in a frying pan. Add mustard, curry leaves, black gram dal. When the mustard splutters, add onion and saute. Add tomato, chilli powder, coriander powder, pepper powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, salt, water and let it boil. When the contents thicken, add fish pieces and cook. Cook on a low flame, till the contents thicken and remove from the stove.
