The fisheries sector in the state can set an example for major coastal states like Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat, with the extraordinary growth in the ornamental fish sector, said National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB) chief executive officer Krishnaiah.

Speaking at the plenary session of Ornamental Kerala-2010, organized by the State Department of Fisheries in association with the Agriculture Ministry and the Fisheries Resource Management Society (FIRMA), he urged the states to enlarge the infrastructure required for developing a domestic market in the country.
