Diagnosis : Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-8; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 7-9. A species of Trimma with predorsal scales, a moderate interorbital trench (posto2rbital trench absent or poorly developed), second and third dorsal spines not elongate, a fifth pelvic fin ray which is branched dichotomously once and is 40-65% the length of the fourth (fifth pelvic fin ray is < 50% of the fourth in 14 of the individuals examined) (Ref. 49832). Bluish grey with 3 or 4 rows of large yellow blotches on the head and body, with the uppermost row of blotches on each side of the dorsal fin joining medially to form saddles over the dorsum (Ref. 49832).
