Good fishing spots in and around Madurai

I am leaving to a place near Madurai soon. Is there a good fishing spot near Madurai i never tried fishing there so i hope if someone can shed some light on it. I have a lot of time in my hands i am going there for a Marriage and staying for 2 days. Don't know what ill do there :-)

I assume there are no good spots. I went there and all rivers are dry. Damn monsoon
