When i go for fishing i my primary bait is live white prawns. Most of the coastal rock fishes like live prawns. Primary catch are Barramundi, Red Snapper and some fishes which i know only by the tamil name. Can anyone tell me the English names for fishes like Mattivan, Minnal, Othadi, Naikadichan etc. They have weird names i don't know the tamil versions

Dai, You brought your typical tamil names here. Even i never thought of finding out fishing names in English. I know we used to be regular and still never worried what those fish is called in English.

I want to go to that ship wreck with you guys. Heard of stories of Barra's of over 50 ponds. One fishermen said he caught a 26 kilo barramundi near chennai fishing harbour.
