Diagnosis : Dorsal spines (total): 13-13; Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-15; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 14-15. Adults dusky to almost black. Eye with yellow iris and black spot on pectoral fin base (Ref. 48636).
Biology : Found in passages and outer reef slopes (Ref. 7247); also in current prone and clear water reef flats to 40 m depth (Ref. 48636). Occurs singly or in small groups (Ref. 37816). Feeds on zooplankton and benthic algae (Ref. 7247)
